A surface supplier on the North Shore.
Stone Trail stocks large-format porcelain: slabs, tile, 20 mm paving and thin cladding, and supplies it to designers, fabricators, builders and private clients across Metro Vancouver.
Who we are
We chose one job and do only that.
Most surface companies sell everything and treat large-format porcelain as one more line on the price list. It isn't. It is thinner, harder and more precise to handle than the rest, it comes in a limited set of printed faces that repeat, and the ways it goes wrong are ways a general surface yard rarely sees.
Stone Trail is built around that one material, large-format porcelain, across every format the mills press it in. Countertop slabs at 1600×3200, floor and wall tile, trim and bullnose, 20 mm paving that goes straight onto gravel, and 3 mm panels thin enough to clad over an existing wall. It's stocked at 1703 Welch Street in North Vancouver, not ordered in from a container, and we deliver it across the Lower Mainland.
What we deliberately don't do is cut, template or install. Supply and fabrication are different trades with different equipment and different failure modes, and doing one of them properly is enough. Your fabricator, tiler or installer does the skilled work; we make sure the material that reaches them is the right one, undamaged, on the day they expected it.

Where it comes from
What we buy, and where from.
Ten mills, most of them in Spain and Italy, several of them pressing large-format porcelain for longer than Canada has had a building code worth the name. Knowing which programme your surface came off matters: it tells you what formats it comes in, what finishes exist, and whether you can still get a second batch in two years.
-
Spain
Sintered large-format porcelain slabs to 1600×3200 in 3 to 20 mm, plus the engineered rail systems that hang them on a ventilated facade
-
Italy
Through-body marble, travertine and terrazzo faces in 6.5, 12 and 20 mm, from presses that have been running large-format porcelain since the 1930s
-
Outdoor 20 mm programmes
Two-centimetre paving in structured anti-slip finishes, produced to match the thin interior tile in the same collection
-
Travertine programmes
Cross-cut and vein-cut travertine faces from carbon-neutral production, running from 12×24 inch tile up to 48×110 inch panels
-
Hand-finished panels
Limited-run large-format faces finished by hand rather than pressed in volume, for feature walls and one-off commissions
-
Book-matched countertop tops
Mirrored pairs produced and tracked as sets, so an island and its waterfall ends read as one piece
How we work
Three things we hold to.
Supply is the whole business
We don't cut, template, fit, edge or seal anything. That keeps us out of your fabricator's and your tiler's way, and means we're never quoting against the trades you hired. Our only job is getting the right material to them intact.
Straight answers about material
Porcelain is superb for some jobs and the wrong call for others. If a thinner panel, a smaller format, a different collection or a different material altogether serves you better, we will say so before you spend the money.
Nothing leaves unchecked
Faces are recorded, dye lots are tracked, book-matched pairs are kept together, and everything is inspected before it's crated. A flaw found on our floor is our problem; one found on your fabricator's saw is everyone's.
Visit us
Seeing it at full size is the point.
Photographs flatten veining and sample chips lie about scale. Viewings are by appointment, which is deliberate. It means the material you came for is standing up under proper light and somebody is there to answer for it, rather than you walking a warehouse on your own.

Testimonials
What people say after the job is done.
“We wanted one slab to run up the backsplash and around the island, and Stone Trail found a book-matched pair that made it possible. They tagged both and held them until our shop was ready for them.”
“I specify a lot of porcelain and the hard part is knowing which faces a collection actually runs, and in which formats. These are the only people locally who will walk you through that properly instead of guessing, and it's why my floor tile and my counter finally match.”
“They sent me home with a proper offcut instead of a little sample chip, which completely changed which colour we went with. The floor tile, the bullnose and the trim all came from the same batch, so nothing had to be fudged on site.”
